Add the app block (Online Store 2.0)

If your theme uses Online Store 2.0 (JSON) templates, you can add the Hero ID widget with no code, straight from the theme editor.

Steps

1. In your Shopify admin, go to Online Store → Themes.
2. On your live theme, click Customize.
3. Use the template picker at the top to open the page where you want the widget — usually a Product page.
4. In the left panel, click Add block (or Add section → Apps) and choose Hero ID Discount.
5. Drag it to the position you want, adjust the colors and text in the block settings, and click Save.

The widget appears on the storefront immediately.

Optional: restrict to tagged customers

The block can be limited to customers with specific tags. When customer-tag gating is configured for your shop, the widget only renders for logged-in customers whose tags match — everyone else won’t see it. Configure this from the Hero ID app before adding the block.

Can’t find the block?

If Add block doesn’t list Hero ID, or you see “Liquid templates don’t support sections and blocks”, your product template is a classic Liquid template and can’t accept app blocks. Use the Liquid theme guide instead.
